The Mountain Flora series, released by the U.S. Postal Service on March 14, 2022, features four distinct mountain wildflower illustrations rendered in a striking block-print aesthetic, drawn by Lili Arnold and art directed by Ethel Kessler.The designs include:

• Pasqueflower – purple (coastal and alpine regions; also South Dakota’s state flower; provincial flower of Manitoba)

• Wood Lily – vivid orange-red with purplish spots; grows from a bulb and was traditionally used by Native Americans

• Alpine Buttercup – bright yellow (common in Rocky Mountain meadows, blooms May–September)

• Woods’ Rose – dark pink, slightly prickly; features hips; found across central/western U.S. and Canada
